As summer approaches and temperatures continue to rise, it becomes increasingly unbearable. Apart from the scorching heat, summer also brings rain. Faced with the hot and rainy summer, people find it almost intolerable, let alone lithium battery packs, which are afraid of high temperatures and rain. What other precautions should be taken when using lithium battery packs in summer besides using original lithium battery chargers?

Precautions for Using Lithium Battery Packs in Summer:

1. Avoid exposing lithium battery packs to direct sunlight in high temperatures.

During summer use, attention should be paid to the safety of lithium battery packs as much as possible. Due to the hot weather, the batteries generate heat during use, posing a significant safety hazard, and making them prone to self-ignition. It is essential to pay attention to the ventilation and heat dissipation of the batteries and avoid exposing them to direct sunlight.

2. Avoid charging lithium battery packs in high-temperature environments.

Lithium battery packs tend to overcharge during operation in hot seasons. The temperature increase will enhance each active substance’s activity, leading to full and intense reactions, resulting in rapid reaction rates, high charging currents and temperatures, and lower charging voltages required during charging.

3. Avoid overcharging lithium battery packs for extended periods.

Lithium batteries do not have a memory effect. Each charge should last approximately 5-8 hours. Estimate the battery usage time and avoid overcharging.

4. Avoid letting lithium battery packs come into contact with water.

If water enters the battery box, it may directly cause a short circuit between the positive and negative poles. The mildest consequence is battery damage, while the most severe consequence could lead to a direct short circuit, ignition, or even explosion of the battery. It is best to avoid using forklifts on rainy days.

5. Ensure lithium battery pack installation is carried out under technical guidance.

Lithium battery installation is a specialized task. It is advisable to install under technical guidance or with the assistance of professionals.

6. Avoid storing lithium battery packs empty.

Lithium battery packs should not be stored without charge. If the lithium battery pack is not intended for short-term use, charge the battery to at least 50% for storage and charge the battery every 30 days.
